With more than 19 years of professional experience, Ms. Waite is the Chief of Party of the US-APEC Technical Assistance to Advance Regional Integration (US-ATAARI) project. She manages the US$27 million project and is its key point of contact, having developed collaborative working relationships with numerous stakeholders, including the APEC Secretariat, US Government counterparts, APEC member economies, donors, the APEC business community, and other international organizations. She leads implementation and technical design of APEC activities, including activities related to trade in services, disaster management, APEC's new strategy for structural reform, Ease of Doing Business, and host year capacity building.
Ms. Waite earlier served as head of the APEC Technical Assistance and Training Facility (TATF) in Singapore (2008-2013) and managed the Assistance to Lao Bilateral Trade Agreement Compliance and WTO Accession project, now known as LUNA-Lao.
From 2005 to 2006, Ms. Waite spent 18 months in Cairo working with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where she managed technical assistance and capacity building on trade in services. She collaborated with other donor agencies to prevent overlap, provided research and technical reports to ministry officials, and co-designed an approach for a public awareness campaign.
Before joining Nathan Associates in 2002, Ms. Waite managed business member advocacy programs on U.S. international trade policy for the U.S. Coalition of Service Industries and was an analyst with the U.S. International Trade Commission.
