In a joint statement issued at the 21st APEC Ministerial Meeting in Singapore on November 11-12, 2009, APEC Ministers praised the APEC Technical Assistance and Training Facility (TATF) for its contributions to strengthening the APEC Secretariat.”We welcome the contribution to the APEC Secretariat by the US-APEC Technical Assistance and Training Facility (TATF) in helping to strengthen the Secretariat and its operations, train staff to improve project quality and the project management process, upgrade the Secretariat’s information technology, and promote cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat.

Housed at the APEC Secretariat, TATF aims to help the APEC Secretariat become a more strategically managed regional institution to achieve APEC’s policy objectives more effectively and efficiently.

TATF also provides capacity building assistance to APEC economies to advance the APEC strategic goal of regional economic integration and its effort to meet the Bogor Goals of free and open trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region.

Managed by Nathan Associates Inc, APEC TATF is primarily funded by the U.S. Department of State, with additional funding and management oversight provided by USAID.
