Under this USAID-funded project, Nathan Associates helped Mongolian industries generate sustainable increases in productivity and increase export market shares and export earnings.

We

  • Identified problems and opportunities in specific cluster areas, such as textiles and food, and devised activities to improve the competitiveness of its exports;
  • Helped business associations and private enterprises carry out strategies that improve productivity and quality; and
  • Helped the government improve the business environment by formulating and enforcing better policies and making public institutions more service-oriented.

In all activities, we built public-private cooperation and better dialogue between government and businesses. Our initiatives helped to better position export industries such as cashmere and fine fibers, meat, and tourism by focusing on product differentiation, innovation, and vigorous marketing.
