Women’s Economic Participation in Peru: Achieving APEC Priorities for Gender Equality

USAID’s US-APEC Technical Assistance to Advance Regional Integration (US-ATAARI) activity prepared this report as part of APEC’s efforts to advance women’s economic empowerment. The assessment and report are framed around the five priority areas of the APEC Policy Partnership for Women and the Economy (PPWE): (1) access to capital and assets; (2) access to markets; (3) capacity, skills, and health; (4) leadership, voice and autonomy; and (5) innovation and technology. The report complements Peru's role as APEC host in 2016. Findings in this report articulate the strongest opportunities for effective, sustainable action that permits greater integration of women into long-term, inclusive economic growth in Peru.
